is it safe to run up and down the stairs as a home workout for my legs? or is it dangerous and i could easily injure myself? im afraid i might damage my knee by exerting so much force into going up and down the stairs.
I did some the other day for the first time and now my lower body half is more sore than a clit after some hardcore. Despite being a runner, that gravity can still work your muscles. Anyway, I'm going out for round 2 and I'm coming back later so you guys better say something funny or Britarded so that I'll see it when I check the question again.
I've been inactive all summer. More like a couch potato :p. And now that school is starting again, i wanna get active again. So i'm looking for ways to get active around the house. Is stair climbing for 15 minutes every day enough?

i have been reading online that running up and down stairs is good for weight loss but every website i go to say to run up and down bleachers or a big staircase. i was wondering if running up and down the stairs in my house would be an ok workout. there is only 8 steps so would it be just as effective if i ran up and down the 8 steps but did it more to make up for the low amount of steps? thanks in advance
I'm trying to get a flatter stomach, and am going to try and get a cardio workout in every day. To flatten my abs, should I do stair master or cross trainer and for how long? Also, what kind of foods should i be eating to help my abs out?
If you are not familiar with stair race you can view it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xv26mGY2SIM I would like another workout besides just running stairs. I really do not have stairs that I can climb. I do run. I compete in 10K and 10 mile races, some 5K races.

I've tried the motion trainer lately (it's like a combo of stair stepper/elliptical/treadmill) that lets you choose how big of strides you want to take. Well, after an hour on that I always seem to burn about 100-200 more calories than if I were just to stay on the treadmill for the same amount of time. How come you burn more on this motion trainer but sweat less?
I bought a gym membership but I'm not getting much out of it. I do the stair master and random things without a plan and after several months I feel better but no real results. I just started taking ice skating lessons which are really expensive, with the same amount of money I"m spending on it I could hire a really professional personal trainer. Which do you think is better - getting a personal trainer or continuing with the ice skating?
I Climb the stairs in my high-rise (28 floors) every night to try to lose my pot-gut. I have tried to find a website that could tell me how many calories this burns, but cant find one. Does anyone here know? It takes me 10 mins to get to the 28th floor and about 7 mins. to get back down (i dont take the elevator back down, i walk back down the stairs). There are 598 steps. Anyone can help? ------------- (I already am dieting and doing ab exercises along with the stair climbing, and im thinking of doing the stairs twice up and down now that my legs are getting more used to it).
what are some of the best stair climbing workouts that are available out there
